HEROS AND DISPLAYS

The city center of the Macedonian capital Skopje is populated by countless statues and sculptures of all sorts: more or less famous Macedonians, real and supposed ancestors, liberation fighters, Christian saints and tsars from the Middle Ages standing, sitting or riding crisscross. Also present in large numbers: huge digital display panels in front of the facades that show nothing. As black holes, they banish the gaze.
